"Harold P. Clemans, Sr. 1906-1991
Funeral services were conducted here Friday afternoon at Hemer Funeral Home for Harold P. Clemans Sr., 85 year old Town of Medford resident who died late Tuesday morning, 17 Sep 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield where he had been admitted earlier that morning. Rev. Stephen Rohloff officiated and burial took place in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Clemans, son of the late Luther and Edna (Himebauck) Clemans, was born 28 June 1906, in Waukesha County where he received his education. In 1924 he moved to Taylor County and was employed on area farms. He later worked as a cook at the Ideal Cafe in downtown Medford and then owned and operated a trucking company, delivering fuel products for the Farmers Union during World War II. Mr. Clemans also had worked her for Peterson & Sons and Mueller Brothers Trucking. In 1951 he began employment as a mechanic with the Handel Motor Company, retiring in 1968. He then drove school bus part-time and did some auto mechanic work. He was married 4 Apr 1928, at Medford to Lydia Baehler, who is residing in the long term care unit at Memorial Hospital, Medford. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary last April. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Harold, Jr. (Audrey), Wauwatosa, and William (Lillian), Greendale; a brother, Frank, Hartford; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Hanson, also of Hartford, six grandchildren and six great grandsons. He was also preceded in death by a brother and a grandson, John, who died in 1967."
